Another fascinating feature of diamonds is their amazing age. Some of the oldest diamonds found are about 3.3 billion years old. In comparison, dinosaurs lived about 65 million to 245 million years ago, meaning the oldest diamonds are much older than the dinosaurs.

Diamonds come in a wide range of colors, from "colorless" to yellow and brown, to rare colors like blue, pink, green and red. The color of a diamond is determined by chemical impurities or admixtures during its formation.
